Let me start by letting you know a little about myself. I attended University of Minnesota Duluth and have a BA in Political Science and Criminology. While there I was a member of the University Student Senate and later became Chair of the University of Minnesota Student Senate. In addition, I spent 7 years in the U.S. Army as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 helicopter pilot. I was activated for Desert Storm and was based at Fort Rucker, AL training flight students. The last 20 years I have worked as a union iron worker for local 512 here in St. Paul, where I hold the position as trustee.
My beautiful wife named Susan has been and will continue to be not only my support, but one of the many reasons why I chose to run. I have a wonderful step daughter named Heather and between the two of them, women’s rights are very important to me, because they are important to them.
My son Robert and my daughter in law Katrina have blessed me with two beautiful grandchildren, Gemma and Jude. When I first decided to run for Congress, I did so because I believe in a better and brighter future for America. Children and grandchildren throughout Minnesota’s 6th District represent that future! This is a historic election. It’s an election between the truth of reality and the lies of ideology. It is our responsibility to give our children the tools they need to succeed including great public education. Vote for me and I will work tirelessly to improve our local schools and protect the future of our district!
I have spent a lifetime building bridges, and one of the biggest lies is that we can’t afford to fix our roads and bridges. Instead of giving tax breaks to the top one tenth of 1% we need to fix our failing infrastructure, roads, bridges, airports, mass transit, local city pipelines for water, gas, etc. I’ll help create jobs that can’t be shipped over seas.
Trickle down has not in the past, nor will it in the future, grow the economy. So, how do we grow the economy? By fighting for equal pay and raising the minimum wage, and by investing in infrastructure and schools. Let’s build our clean energy grid and put Minnesota residents back to work and our economy will flourish and THAT is the truth!
Right to work is a lie. Labor rights are the truth, strong labor protections help our declining middle class.
