CARVER, Minn. – David Snyder, the DFL-endorsed candidate for Congress in the 6th released the following statement after winning the party’s primary election on Tuesday night:

“I’d like to thank the Democrats in the 6th District for awarding me the honor of representing them in our race to take back this seat for all working families.”

“I promise to offer real, practical solutions to the hard-working citizens of our district. I know that working families are struggling to break even and wages have failed to keep up with the rising costs of living. I have personally experienced these struggles and every day I thank God that I have my union brothers and sisters working together to help all of us earn a fair wage and an opportunity to live the American dream.”

“We are known for those we count as friends and as candidates running for office, we are known for who we endorse.”

“I endorse the great Labor organizations in this state; the Minnesota Farmers Union; Senators Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken and Representative Betty McCollum. These are people and organizations who work hard every day for working families.’

“My opponent endorses Donald Trump and while many of his party have criticized the remarks Trump has made (including this afternoon), my opponent defends his remarks. The choice is clear.”

“As a veteran I know that country comes before party. As your congressperson I promise that will be the philosophy that guides my every action. “

David Snyder, the DFL-endorsed candidate in the 6th Congressional District, is an Army veteran and iron worker with Local 512. He lives in Carver, with his wife Sue. He has a son, a step daughter, and 2 grandchildren.
